Tara Steinberg is a New York City based comedic and dramatic professional actor who is incredibly passionate about acting as a medium for powerful story telling.

After graduating from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (NYCDA), Tara has been spreading her passion, wit and joy on stages and film sets all over New York City. She filmed a satirical commercial for TruTV, portrayed a pregnant woman in the Coen brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis, and will soon be seen in an independent short film called Tea Party and an independent feature film called The Unattainable Story, both of which are currently in post-production. Most recently, Tara was in a staged reading of a new play by Nina Kethevan titled Dress of Fire, featuring Austin Pendleton.

Tara has a unique understanding of how acting fits into the larger picture of filmmaking thanks to her professional production experience. She was the assistant production coordinator for The Letter, a feature film staring James Franco and Winona Ryder and the production coordinator for Sleeping With The Fishes, staring Gina Rodriguez and Priscilla Lopez, and No Pay, Nudity, directed by Lee Wilkof, starring Gabriel Byrne, Nathan Lane and Frances Conroy.

Tara is also a writer and has had non-fiction work and poetry published online. Additionally, Tara is a painter and considers herself a community activist. She has a degree in International Relations and is an Americorps Alum. Tara believes all of these things contribute to her acting. Whether coordinating transportation for a production's lead talent or coordinating a thousand hot meals a day to the neighorhoods most affected by Hurricane Sandy, she draws on all of these experiences to help embody characters that are real, authentic and deeply human.
